5 Reasons to go Baby Swimming this New Year
There are so many reasons to start swimming this year
✅ Builds Water Confidence – We use repetition a lot within our lessons, to help babies and toddlers understand key safety skills, growing their water confidence.
✅ Physical Benefits – The physical benefits of baby swimming mean that throughout the year, you’re keeping your little one active and fit.
✅ Social Development – In the first few months of the year, you’re more likely to be at home indoors, where there’s a limited amount social interaction, swimming lessons are a fantastic way to combat this.
✅ Bonding Time – Swimming also provides a special opportunity for some skin-to-skin bonding time with your little one.
✅ Staying Out Of The Cold – That’s because Water Babies only swim in pools that have been heated to a minimum of 29°. In some swimming pools, the temperatures can be 32°.
What we’ll teach you
We’ll teach you to teach your baby to swim. From lesson one, we’ll get your little one used to the sensation of the water, developing their natural instincts and transforming these into core aquatic skills.
By the end of our programme, your little one will be swimming freely using different strokes and be able to keep themselves safe in and around the water.
We work closely with Swim England, the national governing body for swimming and we’ve woven their learn to swim framework through our programme. So you’ll be simply amazed at the progress they’ve made.
And not only will they be able to swim independently and have learnt a skill for life – they will have grown in confidence too.

Learn a new language
Using some basic signs with your little one from an early age can help them to communicate more easily before they begin to speak, making for a slightly easier toddler stage! We also use sign language in our lessons to make them more accessible for carers and little ones with hearing difficulties as we believe that there should be no barriers when it comes to learning to swim.
What should I bring to my swimming lesson?
Starting lessons this new year? We’ve put together a handy list of the baby swimming essentials you’ll need to pack in your bag!
